Key Takeaways

  • Rosie is the cheapest way for a small team to stop missing calls: $49 a month for 250 minutes, with Scale at $149 adding calendar booking and live transfers.
  • Goodcall bills per unique caller instead of per minute ($79 for 100 customers), and Aircall AI Voice Agents suit teams that want pay-as-you-go minutes at $0.49 next to a full phone system.
  • Retell AI is the builder's pick at $0.07 to $0.31 per minute. Fin Voice fits teams already on Intercom. Albato's AI Agent step turns each call into a helpdesk ticket or CRM update.

The same 1,000 minutes of answered calls cost $70 to $310 on Retell AI, a flat $149 on Rosie Scale and $490 on Aircall's pay-as-you-go rate. For a small support team, the pricing model decides the monthly bill more than the voice quality does.

How we picked these AI voice agents

We selected six AI voice agents that a small support team can buy without an enterprise contract. Every tool had to answer inbound calls on its own and publish a price on its website, so a team of three can sign up and test without a sales cycle. Fin Voice is the one exception on price, and it stays in the list because teams on Intercom get it in the helpdesk they already run.

Two strong voice platforms did not make the cut on budget. Synthflow states that enterprise contracts start at $30,000 a year, and Dialpad sells its AI agents on custom pricing through sales. Both suit contact centers more than a five-person support desk.

For each tool, we checked how call data reaches a helpdesk or CRM: a native Albato connector, a webhook, or a call summary email. Prices come from each vendor's pricing page as of October 27, 2026.

Which AI voice agent is cheapest for a small business?

Rosie is the cheapest AI voice agent in this list for a small business, at $49 a month for 250 minutes of 24/7 call answering. Goodcall is cheaper per conversation when callers stay on the line for a long time, because it never charges by the minute.

Rosie: flat monthly plans for owners who miss calls

Rosie is built for owners who cannot pick up the phone while they work, and it sets itself up from the business's Google profile and website. The Professional plan at $49 a month covers 250 minutes, message taking for 2 scenarios and appointment links sent by text. Every plan answers in English and Spanish, keeps call summaries, transcripts and recordings, and sends an email and text notification for every call.

The jump to Scale at $149 matters for support teams. It raises the allowance to 1,000 minutes and adds booking straight into your calendar, warm transfers where Rosie briefs your teammate before connecting, and live transfers. Growth at $299 brings 2,000 minutes, waterfall transfers that try several numbers in turn, and training on your own policy documents.

Rosie AI phone answering service for small businesses homepage

Rosie has no Albato connector, so the reliable route is the email it sends after every call. Albato's Gmail trigger "Email matching search received" picks up each notification and passes its contents to a helpdesk or CRM action. Rosie offers a 7-day free trial, and annual billing gives 2 months free.

Goodcall: pay per caller, not per minute

Goodcall prices by the number of different people its agent helps in a month, and minutes, calls and tokens do not change the bill. Starter costs $79 for 100 unique customers, then 79 cents for each extra customer, which Goodcall estimates at about 150 calls. Growth is $129 for 500 customers and Scale is $299 for 2,000, with overage dropping to 26 and 15 cents.

This model favors businesses whose regulars call several times a month, such as a repair shop confirming a pickup. A customer who calls three times still counts once.

Goodcall AI voice agent homepage

Goodcall has no free trial in the usual sense. You build and test a demo agent for free and start paying only when you connect a phone number.

💡 Tip

Goodcall counts any API, MCP server or code block you connect as one "external tool". Starter includes 1, so point that slot at an Albato webhook and fan the call data out to every app from there instead of spending slots per app.

Frontdesk: voice, chat and SMS on one bill

Frontdesk, sold by My AI Front Desk, packs phone answering into a wider front-office plan. Business-in-a-Box costs $99 a month, or $79 billed annually, and includes 200 voice minutes, 100 chatbot conversations, 400 SMS and an AI-native CRM with sequence automations. Voice beyond the allowance draws on overage credits at 25 credits per minute.

For a support team with its own helpdesk, the limit is data access. API access and custom integrations sit on the Partner and Enterprise tier, which is priced by volume through a demo, so on Business-in-a-Box the call records live in Frontdesk's own CRM. A 7-day free trial is available.

Which AI voice agent works with a phone system you already pay for?

Aircall AI Voice Agents is the best fit when you also need a business phone line for human agents, because the voice agent and your team share one workspace. Every Aircall phone plan includes 50 AI Voice Agent minutes a month, so a team on Essentials can test the agent on real calls before paying for more.

Aircall AI Voice Agents: per-minute pricing next to a full phone system

Aircall sells AI Voice Agents standalone from a $100 monthly minimum or inside its phone plans. Essentials costs $30 per license a month and Professional $50, both billed annually with a minimum of 3 licenses. Pay-as-you-go voice agent minutes cost $0.49 each up to 2,500 minutes, then $0.39, and Aircall states there are no separate LLM token charges.

Bundles cut the rate for steady volume:

Monthly usageMonthly pricePrice per minute
Pay as you goBilled per minute$0.49 up to 2,500 min, then $0.39
500 minute bundle$175$0.35
2,500 minute bundle$725$0.29
10,000+ minute bundleFrom $1,900$0.19

The agent speaks 38 languages, runs in-call and post-call actions, and follows custom routing, escalation and fallback rules. Aircall lists 250+ integrations, including Zendesk, Intercom and HubSpot, plus an open API and webhook framework. That framework is how an Aircall call reaches Albato through the Webhooks app's "Incoming webhook" trigger, since Aircall has no native Albato connector.

⚠️ Important

Aircall's annual phone plans need at least 3 licenses, so the cheapest Essentials entry is $90 a month. A solo owner who only wants the voice agent should start from the $100 standalone minimum instead.

Which AI voice agent can a developer customize?

Retell AI is the most customizable voice agent here, because you choose the language model, the voice provider and the telephony, and you pay only for minutes used. It suits a team with someone comfortable writing prompts and wiring webhooks.

Retell AI: build your own agent at $0.07 to $0.31 a minute

Retell AI charges $0.07 to $0.31 per minute with no contract, and new accounts get $10 in free credits. The per-minute price is a sum of parts: Retell's voice infrastructure at $0.055 a minute, a text-to-speech voice from $0.015, and the LLM you pick from GPT, Claude and Gemini models. Telephony adds a cost unless you bring your own carrier.

Retell AI voice agent platform homepage

Every account includes 20 concurrent calls, and more capacity costs $8 per concurrent call a month. Pay-as-you-go includes webhooks and API access, so a finished call can post its transcript and caller details to Albato's "Incoming webhook" trigger without middleware. If several teams start building agents on different models, Albato Runtime helps you track LLM costs across teams.

Which AI voice agent works inside Intercom?

Fin Voice is the AI voice agent for teams whose tickets already live in Intercom, because calls land in the same inbox as chat and email. Intercom does not publish a price for Fin Voice, and the voice page routes buyers to sales.

Fin Voice: phone support on the Intercom helpdesk

Fin Voice 2 runs on Intercom's Apex Flash model and answers from your knowledge base and policies. It can verify a caller's identity, process a refund or book an appointment, and connect to your systems to resolve the call without a transfer.

Fin Voice 2 AI voice agent for customer support by Intercom homepage

For context, Fin's published price on other channels is $0.99 per outcome, with a 50-outcome monthly minimum, plus $19 per helpdesk seat a month on the Intercom helpdesk. A $0.99 outcome is a resolution, a handoff through a configured Procedure, a disqualification or a self-serve routing, and Intercom charges once per conversation even when Fin takes several actions.

Intercom has a native Albato connector with triggers such as "New conversation", "New Ticket" and "Conversation closed". Actions include "Create a ticket", "Create note" and "Update user/lead". An Albato scenario can start from a closed Intercom conversation and update the contact in HubSpot or post an alert to Slack.

How do you send AI voice agent calls to your helpdesk?

You send AI voice agent calls to a helpdesk by passing each finished call (transcript, caller number, summary) into an automation that creates or updates a ticket. Fin Voice works inside the Intercom helpdesk, and Aircall lists its own Zendesk, Intercom and HubSpot integrations. Rosie, Goodcall and Retell AI need a bridge, and Albato provides one for each route:

  • Webhook: Retell AI and Aircall post call data to Albato's "Incoming webhook" trigger. Goodcall can call the same webhook as an external tool.
  • Email: Rosie's post-call email reaches Albato through the Gmail trigger "Email matching search received".
  • Native connector: Intercom triggers such as "New Ticket" and "Conversation closed" feed other apps directly.

Which Albato actions create the ticket?

On the receiving side, Albato's Zendesk connector creates or updates tickets, the HubSpot connector creates tickets and creates or updates contacts, and the Slack connector posts a message to a channel. If you are still choosing where tickets should live, our helpdesk software comparison ranks options by CRM integration.

The safest first scenario is a narrow one: send every call that ends in a transfer or a refund request to the helpdesk as a ticket, and log the rest as notes on the contact. You can widen the rules once you have read a few weeks of transcripts.

📊 Stat

In a Gartner survey of 3,566 customers in early 2026, 87% said companies using GenAI for service must offer a way to reach a human agent.

How does Albato's AI Agent turn calls into tickets?

Albato's AI Agent is an automation step that reads each call transcript and decides which action to run, so one scenario handles refunds, bookings and complaints differently without a chain of filters. You give it a model, plain-language instructions, and the actions it may call as tools. Albato offers around 5,000 actions that can be tools.

For a voice agent, the scenario starts with the call trigger (a webhook or an email). In the AI Agent step, the "User message" field receives the transcript, "Agent instructions" describe what to do ("open an urgent Zendesk ticket for billing disputes, update the HubSpot contact for booking changes"), and "Guardrails" set limits. Each field is limited to 1,000 characters.

The tools are the actions you allow, such as Zendesk "Create ticket" and Slack "Send message to a public channel". For each field, you can map a value yourself or choose "Let the AI agent decide", for example to let the agent set ticket priority from the caller's tone and request.

What does the AI Agent cost to run?

Each AI Agent run costs 3 Albato transactions, however many tools it has. With the built-in Albato AI model, every 2,000 tokens add 1 transaction. External models from OpenAI, DeepSeek or Google Gemini add no token surcharge in Albato and bill through your own provider account. How should you choose an AI voice agent for your support team?

Choose an AI voice agent by matching its pricing model to your call pattern first, then check how its call data reaches your helpdesk. A wrong pricing model costs more than a weaker voice.

  • Short, frequent calls from many people: a flat plan with minutes, such as Rosie Professional at $49 or Frontdesk at $99.
  • Long calls or repeat callers: Goodcall's per-customer pricing, since minutes do not count.
  • A team that also needs phone lines: Aircall, where 50 voice agent minutes come with every phone plan.
  • Custom flows and a developer on hand: Retell AI at $0.07 to $0.31 per minute.
  • Tickets already in Intercom: Fin Voice, priced through sales.

💡 Tip

Before you sign up, export one month of call logs from your current phone system and count total minutes, number of calls and unique callers. Those three numbers price every tool in this list.

Most of these tools also answer web chat or SMS. If chat is your bigger channel, compare them with our list of AI chatbots for customer service before you decide.

FAQ

What is the best AI voice agent for a small business?

Rosie is the best AI voice agent for most small businesses, with 250 minutes for $49 a month, English and Spanish on every call, and a 7-day free trial. Goodcall is the better pick when callers often ring back, because it charges per unique customer instead of per minute.

How much does an AI voice agent cost per month?

An AI voice agent costs from $49 a month on a flat plan (Rosie, 250 minutes) up to $299 a month for 2,000 minutes or 2,000 customers on Rosie Growth or Goodcall Scale. Per-minute tools cost $0.07 to $0.31 a minute on Retell AI and $0.19 to $0.49 on Aircall.

Can an AI voice agent create tickets in Zendesk or HubSpot?

Yes. Send the finished call to Albato through a webhook, a call summary email or the Intercom connector, then use Zendesk "Create ticket" or HubSpot "Create new ticket" as the action. Albato's AI Agent step can decide the ticket priority and which app to update from the transcript.

Will customers accept talking to an AI on the phone?

Customers accept AI more easily when a person is reachable. In a 2026 Gartner survey, 87% of customers said companies using GenAI for service must offer access to a human agent, so set up live or warm transfers (Rosie Scale, Aircall, Fin Voice) before you go live.

Do AI voice agents work outside business hours?

Yes. An AI voice agent answers whenever the line rings, so it covers evenings, weekends and overflow during busy hours. Rosie lists 24/7 availability and simultaneous calls on every plan, and Retell AI includes 20 concurrent calls on every account.
