In this tutorial, we will explore a seamless integration between AltText.аi and Google Sheets, offering a powerful solution to streamline the process of generating alt text for images within your documents and presentations. How to create automation

Sign in to your Albato account. Go to the Automation section and click the Create new automation button.

The first step is to set up a trigger.

Triggers are events that trigger an automation. All triggers run in real time, that is, data is transferred the moment the event occurs.

  • Choose Google Sheets.
  • Choose the New row created event.
  • Specify you Google Sheets connection.
  • In the Additional parameters fields, select the sheet of the spreadsheet that you want to use.

You can connect your Google Sheets account to Albato by following these instructions if you haven't already done so.

Click the Add a trigger button and move on to the next step - Automation timing.

Choose the Real time mode and click the Save button.

The next step is to set up an action.

Actions are what Albato performs when your automation is running. Actions also allow you to transfer data to other apps and systems.

  • Choose AltTex.аi.
  • Choose the Generate Alt Text action.
  • Specify you AltTex.аi connection.

You can connect your AltTex.аi account to Albato by following these instructions if you haven't already done so.

Click the Add an action button and Map the fields.

In the URL to the image field choose the value from the Google Sheets drop-down list.

Click the Save button.

Now move on to the next step. To do this, click on + and then select Action.

  • Choose Google Sheets.
  • Choose the Create/update a row action.
  • Specify you Google Sheets connection.
  • In the Additional parameters fields, select the sheet of the spreadsheet that you use in the first step.

Click the Add an action button and Map the fields.

In the Column IMAGES field choose the value from the Google Sheets drop-down list - Column IMAGES.

In the Column ALT TEXT field choose the value from the AltTex.аi drop-down list.

Click the Save button.

In the Duplicate Search setting choose the Update an existing record if a duplicate is found, otherwise create a record option. Read more about the Duplicate Search setting on our blog.

Choose the value to search for duplicates - Column IMAGES and Column ALT TEXT.

Set up the way for updating fields in the receiving app if a duplicate is found. Save the Current value tag if you want to save the data that is already available in the app.

Click the Save button.

Now you're all set! Click the Start button.

Open the image you need and copy its URL.

Paste the URL into your Google Sheets - column IMAGES.

Wait for a while and you will get your alt text automatically.
