The **Router** tool directs an automation to different steps based on a condition. Use it when the next action depends on a value, such as an order total. It follows this logic:

IF condition → THEN start step A → OTHERWISE start step B

## How to Use the Tool

This example assigns orders to managers based on the order value.

A company receives orders from an AliExpress store and creates tasks for its managers in HubSpot CRM. One manager handles orders under $10,000 and another handles orders over $10,000. **Router** selects the relevant path based on the order value.

The condition can also be set based on other order parameters, defined from the trigger.

## How to Set Up the Tool

Create the automation steps for both paths, then add **Router** after the trigger and specify which step each path should use.

1. Access the automation, click the symbol **+** just below the trigger and select the **Tool** option.

2. Then look for the **Router** tool and click the **Select** button to proceed.

3. Configure the following fields:

- **If:** Select the value to compare and define the condition that determines the path.
- **Then:** Indicate the step to which the transition will occur if the condition is met.
- **Otherwise:** Indicate the step to which the automation will proceed if the condition is not met.

> Important: Add a **Break** step to separate the two paths and stop the automation at the end of the first path.

Without this stop, the automation continues through subsequent steps, including steps intended for the other path.

4. To add it, click the symbol **+** just below the automation step with the first condition and select the **Tool** option.

5. Then look for the **Break** tool and click the **Select** button to proceed.

The structure is shown below.

6. After completing the configuration, click **Start**.
