# Improve Your Customer Journey: How to Connect Ortto with Albato

[Ortto (formerly Autopilot)](https://albato.com/apps/autopilot) is a versatile platform for businesses that optimizes customer journey, allowing teams to automate marketing, track engagement, and personalize customer interactions at scale.

With Albato, you can seamlessly integrate Ortto with over 800 apps to enhance its automation capabilities, improve team productivity, and elevate customer experience.

**Available Triggers:**

> Triggers are events that trigger an automation. All triggers run in real time; that is, data is transferred the moment the event occurs.

-   New Contact
-   Contact Added to List
-   Contact Removed From List

**Available Actions:**

> Actions are what Albato performs when your automation is running. Actions also allow you to transfer data to other apps and systems.

-   Add/Update Contact
-   Custom API request

## App connection

Before setting up automations with Ortto, connect the app to Albato.

1.  Log in to your Albato account. If you don't have an account, sign up [here](https://albato.com/).
    
2.  Go to the **Apps** section and click the **Add a connection** button.

3.  In the search bar, type **Ortto** and select it from the menu. Then, click **Add a connection** to start the setup process.

4.  Choose a Name for your connection.

5.  Sign in to your Ortto account to obtain your API key. Expand the **CDP** tab and select **Data sources**.

6.  Click on **New data source**.

7.  Choose **Custom API (advanced)** option.

8.  Give the data source API a name.

In the **Merge strategy** fields, select the desired option in Default association. The most common person field used for this purpose is Email. The Association fallback is optional.

9.  Click on the **Create** button.

10.  Copy your API key.

11.  Paste it in the Albato API Key field and click on **Continue** button.

Once this process is done, you’ll see a success message and your Ortto account will be connected to Albato.
