# How to Connect Amazon S3 to Albato

IN THIS ARTICLE

[Amazon S3](https://albato.com/apps/amazons3) is a cloud storage service that allows businesses to store, organize, and retrieve data. Connect Amazon S3 with Albato to integrate it with over 1000+ apps, including AI tools like [ChatGPT](https://albato.com/apps/openai) and [Claude](https://albato.com/apps/claude_ai_anthropic). Follow the steps below to set it up.

### Step-by-step instructions

1.  [Log in](https://albato.com/app/user/auth/login?lang=en) to your Albato account.

2.  Go to the **Apps** section and click **Add a connection**.

3.  Search for Amazon S3, select it, and click Add a connection again.

4.  To get your Access Key ID and Secret Access Key, in a new tab, sign in to your [AWS Management Console](https://aws.amazon.com/console/).
    
5.  Go to **Services** → **IAM (Identity & Access Management)**. Click on **Users** under **Access Management**. Select an existing IAM user or create a new user.
    
6.  Ensure this user has permissions to access your S3 buckets (e.g., attach **AmazonS3FullAccess** or a more restricted policy).
    
7.  Go to the **Security credentials** tab for that IAM user. Click **Create access key**. Then, copy both the **Access Key ID** and **Secret Access Key**.
    
8.  Return to Albato, paste the **Access Key ID** and **Secret Access Key** into the fields, and click **Continue**.
