How to Save Your Zoom Call Recordings to Dropbox
IN THIS ARTICLE
If you use Zoom for virtual calls and meetings, there's often follow-up work after each session — distributing the recording to team members, keeping it for compliance, or making it available for review later.
Doing this manually for every call takes time and creates a gap between when the meeting ends and when the recording is actually accessible.
Albato bridges the two. Every time a Zoom call recording is completed, the file gets saved directly to your Dropbox — no manual work needed.
Creating the Connections
The first step, before creating the automation, is to make sure that both Zoom and Dropbox are correctly connected to Albato.
If you haven't done it yet, go to the Apps tab on the platform, click Add connection, and connect the applications. A new window will open so you can authorize the connection and complete the process.
With the connections set up, proceed to creating the automation.
How to Create the Automation
Go to the Automations tab and click Create new automation.

Click on the first step to add the trigger for the automation.

In this case, we'll use the Zoom trigger called Call recording is completed. This step will be configured as follows.

This Zoom trigger doesn't send the recording file directly, but instead provides a URL where the download can be made. For that, in the second step of the automation, we'll use an Albato feature to download the file directly from that URL.
Click to add another step.

Select HTTP Request and then choose Get file by URL.

In the next step, provide the URL. Here, we'll use the parameter provided by the Zoom trigger, as shown below.

The remaining fields are not mandatory, so after filling in the URL field, click Save.
The final step of the automation will be to send this file to Dropbox.
Add one more step, this time from Dropbox.

The action should be Dropbox - Add File.

Choose where you want to save the file in your Dropbox. Note that you don't need to enter the full path to your folder, only the part that appears after the /.
Example of a full URL: https://www.dropbox.com/home/name
You should only enter this part: /home/name
It will look like this.

Next, define the name of the file in Dropbox and select the file provided by the HTTP Request step.

After clicking Save, your automation will be fully configured. Click Start in the upper-right corner to activate it.

Now you can have your Zoom recordings saved to Dropbox automatically after each call. If you have any questions, contact our support via chat.
