How to Create a Connection via Link

Before, agencies had to grant access to their own account or request their credentials to connect to a client’s app account in Albato. Now, in the Apps section, you can create a special link that allows users to connect to the app without an account in Albato.

This is useful for agencies, IPaaS companies, or freelancers who set up automations on behalf of clients.

Important: The function enables agencies to securely receive data from clients without sharing logins and passwords.

How the connection via link works

You need to create a link and send it to your client so they can log into the application. To log in, the client only needs to enter their account details. After that, the connection will appear in your Albato account. Follow the steps in this guide.

Step 1. Creating a connection link

1. Log in to your Albato account.

2. Go to the Apps section and click Add a connection.

3. Select the app you need and click Create a connection by link.

4. Name the connection and click Continue.

5. Copy the generated link and send it to your client.

Important: The link works only once and is valid for 48 hours. If the client doesn’t use it in time, click Refresh credentials to update the link.

Step 2. Sending the link to the client

6. The client opens the link and grants Albato access.

7. Then, they enter their login, password, API key or authorize via OAuth.

8. If the connection is successful, the client will see a confirmation message.

Step 3. Checking the connection

9. Refresh the Apps page and make sure the new connection has been added.
