How to Connect Compass to Albato

    IN THIS ARTICLE

Compass is a corporate messenger with built-in video conferencing for over 1000 active participants. Connect Compass with Albato to integrate it with over 1000+ apps, including AI tools like Grok and Claude. Follow the steps below to set it up.

    Before you start

To get started, you will need:

    • A workspace in Compass.
    • The Manage bots permission in your Compass workspace.
    • An Albato account.

If you don’t have permission to manage bots, ask your workspace administrator to grant it in the Members section.

Step 1. Connect Compass to Albato

    1. Log in to your Albato account.

    1. Configure the bot parameters:

      • Bot name.
      • Avatar*(optional).
      • Description (optional).
      • Respond to commands (optional).

When creating the bot, keep Respond to commands disabled. In this case, the bot will be created without a webhook. After Albato generates a webhook URL (in the final setup step), you can return to the bot’s settings, enable command responses, and paste the webhook URL.

    1. Copy the bot token from the bot’s profile.

Note: The token is the key that allows actions to be performed on the bot’s behalf. Keep it secure and do not share it publicly.

Step 3. Insert the token and Base URL in Albato

In the Albato connection settings, specify the following:

    • Bot Token — paste the copied value.
    • Compass Base URL:
      • For the cloud version: https://userbot.getcompass.com.
      • For the on-premises version:https://<your_domain>/userbo (replace <your_domain> with your domain).

Note: Do not add a slash at the end of the URL.

Click Continue to complete the connection.

Step 4. Add the webhook to the bot profile (if needed)

After the connection is established, Albato automatically generates a webhook.

Add this webhook to the bot’s profile in Compass if you plan to:

    • configure bot commands;
    • use reverse integration, where events from Compass trigger automations in Albato.

    Available automation actions

    • Sending text messages to a private chat
    • Sending text messages to a thread (in a private or group chat)
    • Sending text messages to a group or channel
